If your emotional abilities aren’t in hand, if you don’t have self-awareness, if you are not able to manage your distressing emotions, if you can’t have empathy and have effective relationships, then no matter how smart you are, you are not going to get very far.
Dr. Daniel Goleman
Emotions aren’t right or wrong. They aren’t the same as our behavior. All emotions are acceptable. It’s what we do with them that can be constructive—expressing ourselves in an authentic, reasonable, thoughtful way, or destructive—yelling, calling someone an unflattering name. We encourage you to think about emotions the same way you would a physical sensation. If you fell and scraped your knee, would you try to convince yourself you are not supposed to feel any pain? Even though you certainly wouldn’t like feeling pain, you wouldn’t judge yourself for it either. Instead, you’d probably try to tend to the wound.
Emotional health is perhaps the main determining factor in whether or not you are happy in life. We place a high value on helping people approach their own emotions in a healthy way, as well as helping them know how to handle the emotions of other people. As created beings, we believe there is a direct correlation between our spiritual health and our emotional well being. It is our belief we live out our true selves as we embrace who God created us to be, and we live out our best lives as we embrace those God has placed in our lives upon our journey. Therefore, when it comes to addressing emotional health, we offer practical events that carefully balance our desire to be in God for the world with our responsibility for presenting our transforming selves to others.
Exploring the Enneagram
The Ennea-what? The Enneagram, a typology describing nine patterns by which human beings attempt to secure their survival and avoid their primal anxieties, is a tool for self-awareness and self-knowledge leading to deeper levels of transformation. By exploring the Enneagram, you will be able to better understand yourself in the unique way God has created you.
Dr. Kelly Wright presents this one-day workshop designed for small groups, leadership teams, non-profits, transformational group experiences and churches. Kelly is a Certified Enneagram Facilitator and has been helping others learn and study the Enneagram for more than ten years.
Silence and Solitude Retreat
Silence and Solitude is a spiritual practice spiritual seekers down through the ages have used to open themselves to God’s transforming work. In silence and solitude you will discover you have a soul, that God is near, the universe is good, others aren’t as bad as you think, and you are safely more than what you “do.” We live in a busy, noisy world. One gift we can give to ourselves is the gift of retreat. Retreat is a spiritual practice where we make space for God. Emilie Griffin writes, Retreat is a generous commitment to friendship with God. During a silence and solitude retreat you will practice silence, solitude, receive spiritual teaching, and share personal reflections. Each technology-free retreat includes extended silence and solitude so you can rest and pay attention to what’s going on in your own soul so you can return to your life from a life-giving space. Typically, our retreats last about 25 hours and take place at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks.

Emotional Fitness
This workshop provides a practical, biblical perspective on human emotionality. Learn about the primary painful emotions (hurt, anger, fear, guilt, condemnation and stress) of your “emotional cup” and how to resolve those emotions. Discover how to address painful emotions through the context of a loving relationship with God and other people. You’ll learn the how-to’s for healing painful emotions so you can be free to experience more joy, peace, contentment and abundance in life.
Hartley Wright presents this workshop designed for small groups, care-giving settings, one-to-one or couples mentoring.
Sacred Journey Retreat
Our Sacred Journey retreats are ideal for groups or organizations who long to experience God at a deeper, soul level. These retreats are spiritual formation experiences which can be presented with a single focused application (one weekend, one theme) or expanded for a small or medium-sized cohort community experience willing to meet eight times together over the span of two years. These retreats include substantive teaching on the spiritual themes of desire, rest, prayer, scripture, known, listen, called and thrive.
Dr. Kelly and Hartley Wright present these retreats together. Significant advanced planning is recommended, and an understanding of your group’s purposes and objectives are essential in the process of consideration and application.
